Competition Rules
All classes are competitive and competition rules are enforced! Please make sure that you read and understand the rules for the class you plan to compete in. If you have any questions please contact us for clarification. Any protests of competitors in your class
MUST BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF ISD STAFF BEFORE THE 1ST ROUND OF COMPETITION, NO EXCEPTIONS!
ALL PAYOUTS ARE BASED ON FULL CAR FIELDS
CHIP DRAW EACH ROUND: Each competitive class will conduct a chip draw pairing before each round.
After round one of competition, competitors can not participate in test & tune.
Rules That Apply to All Classes
- The Drivers Meeting Is Required for all drivers
IF YOU ARE NOT PRESENT, YOU DO NOT RACE! CHECK EVENT SCHEDULE TO CONFIRM DRIVERS MEETING TIME.
- No center drive configurations.
Center drive configurations are not allowed at Import Showdown.
- Vehicles Must Be Street Legal*
Vehicles must be street legal in all other aspects not specifically defined as allowed by rule such as, but not limited to: headlights (removal of one for air indication is allowed except where noted), cooling system & brake lights. This includes hoods, bumper covers (bumper removal ok).
- Wheelie Bar LIMITED TO 2 CLASSES
Wheelie bars are only allowed in the Muscle Vs The World & Showdown classes. Strictly forbidden in all other classes.
- A Vehicle Can Only Be Entered Into One Class
One vehicle is allowed in one class ONLY. A driver may enter multiple vehicles and run multiple classes, However, there are no considerations made for delaying competitions to accommodate this!
- Vehicle Doors Must Open
Doors must open and close from inside and outside the vehicle.
- Dash must remain in vehicle*
Dash must remain in the vehicle, EXCEPT FOR SHOWDOWN.
- Must Carry A Recent Registration
All classes except Muscle Vs The World, Showdown and Modified Street must carry a recently valid registration tag (current year or previous year i.e. expired is ok, 2+ years old is not).
- Vehicles Can Be Towed To The Track
- Competitor Protests Must be Made Before 1st Round Eliminations
Any protests of competitors in your class MUST BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF ISD STAFF BEFORE THE 1ST ROUND OF ELIMINATIONS, NO EXCEPTIONS!
Class Rules
Competition rules apply ONLY to the class for which they are listed under. Test and Tune passes can be made with any configuration or setup, and any modification that meets track safety requirements. Test and Tune cars can have any engine or configuration.
Muscle Vs The World Class
- SD Marked on Side Windows & Rear Glass
Pro Tree (.400) (VS marked on side windows and rear glass)
- Open To All Makes/Models
This class is open to all makes and models.
- Chassis Rules
Must retain stock chassis, floorboard, firewall, and framerails. Aftermarket K-members OK. Modified radiator core support OK. Tube chassis allowed forward of front strut towers. 2 rotor and 4 cylinder cars may run back halved chassis rear of firewall. Mini tubs OK.
- Suspension Rules
Must retain factory mounting points/location for front. Any rear suspension configuration allowed.
- Fuel Cells Allowed
No Limitations.
- Engine Rules
No Restrictions
- All Power Adders Allowed
FWD/RWD/AWD – No Restrictions
- Body Rules
Lightweight components limited to hood, front fenders, decklid/hatches, roof, sunroof, wings, ground effects, bumpers, and doors. One piece front ends OK. Aftermarket doors must appear factory. Factory quarter panels only. Overfenders/flares OK as long as factory metal is still in place. Removal of body parts during competition is prohibited.
- Wheelie Bars Are Allowed
Wheelie bars are allowed, but limited to a 28”x10.5″ tire if wheelie bars are used.
- Import Powered
No Restrictions
- Transmission Rules
No Restrictions
Showdown Class
- SD Marked on Side Windows & Rear Glass
- Slicks Allowed
Slicks are allowed.
- Fuel Cells Allowed
Fuel cells are allowed.
- Any transmission allowed
Any transmission allowed.
- 2 Power Adders Allowed
FWD/RWD/AWD – 2 Power Adders Allowed (Turbo/Supercharger + Nitrous)
- Any Exhaust Configuration Allowed
Any exhaust configuration allowed.
- Wheelie Bars Are Allowed
Wheelie bars are allowed, but limited to a 28”x10.5″ tire if wheelie bars are used.
- Import Engines Only*
Engine swaps out of manufacturer OK. Limited to Import engines only. No V8s.
Modified Street Class
- MS Marked on Side Windows & Rear Glass
- Tire Limits
FWD: Full Slicks Max 26” x 9.5″
RWD: ANY DOT approved tire
AWD: ANY DOT approved tire
- No Exhaust Configuration Limit
Any Exhaust Configuration Allowed.
- Engine/Transmission Swaps Must Be Same Make
Engine/Transmission swaps allowed only within same make (Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infinity, Toyota/Lexus, etc) – Must have at least 4 forward gears
- Suspension Must Be Mounted In Stock Location
Suspension must be mounted in stock location
- Lexan Windows For FWD Only
Lexan Windows allowed for FWD only.
- Single Power Adder Only
- Single Seat Is Allowed
Front half of interior, single seat ok.
- Fuel Cell & Tank Limits
Fuel Cells and tanks must be 5 gals or more
- No Out Of Manufacturer Transmission Swaps
Transmission swaps to out of manufacturer transmissions are not allowed.
- Straight Axle Conversions Not Allowed
No Straight Axle Conversions.
- No Firewall or floor pan alterations
No alternation of firewall or floor pan allowed.
- No One-piece Front Ends
No One Piece Front Ends Allowed.
Street Tuner Class
- ST Marked on Side Windows & Rear Glass
Pro Tree (.400) (ST marked on side windows and rear glass)
- Turbo Size Limit
Turbo Size Limit 62mm for any entry. This is a “Peer Tech” rule, any violations must be brought up before first round eliminations.
- Tire LImits
FWD: Full Slicks Max 25″ x 9.5″
RWD/AWD: DOT approved drag radials ONLY.
- Windows Required to Roll Up & Down
Windows must roll up and down.
- No Exhaust Configuration Limitations
Any exhaust configuration ok.
- No Straight Axle Conversions
No Straight Axle Conversions
- Suspension must be mounted in stock location
Suspension must be mounted in stock location
- Current Tag & Insurance Info Required
Documentation of current tag and valid insurance required. NO DEALER TAGS.
- Single Power Adder Only

- Full Interior Required
Full interior required. All interior parts must be installed! NO EXCEPTIONS!
- No Lexan Windows or One Piece Front Ends
NO Lexan Windows or One Piece Front Ends.
- No Fuel Cells Allowed
Fuel Cells are not allowed, Sumped Factory Tanks OK
- Engine & Transmission Swap Limits
Engine/Transmission swaps allowed only within same make (Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infinity, Toyota/Lexus, etc).
- Must have at least 4 forward gears
- NO Electronically/Hydraulically Assisted Manual Transmissions Allowed
- Transmission swaps to out of manufacturer transmissions are not allowed
- No Firewall or floor pan alterations

Running faster than 10.5/11.5 will result in elimination.

- No Power Adder Restrictions
FWD/RWD/AWD -No restriction on power adder type or combination
- No Electronic Timing Assist Devices Allowed
No electronic timing assist devices allowed. Given the nature of some of these devices this is a “Peer Tech” rule. Any violations must be reported to ISD staff before first round eliminations.
- Any transmission Allowed
No transmission restrictions.
All Motor Class
- AM Marked on Side Windows & Rear Glass
Pro Tree (.400) (AM marked on side windows and rear glass)
- Tire Limits
FWD: Full Slicks Max 25″ x 9.5″
RWD/AWD: DOT approved drag radials ONLY.
- No Exhaust Configuration Limitations
Any exhaust configuration ok.
- Any transmission Allowed
No transmission restrictions.
- absolutely zero power adders
FWD/RWD/AWD – Absolutely ZERO power adders (i.e. nitrous, turbo, supercharged, even if OEM)
- Full Interior Required
Full interior required. All interior parts must be installed! NO EXCEPTIONS!
- No Electronic Timing Assist Devices Allowed
No electronic timing assist devices allowed. Given the nature of some of these devices this is a “Peer Tech” rule. Any violations must be reported to ISD staff before first round eliminations.
